Softball Recap: Oostburg's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Oostburg came into Thursday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Sheboygan South Redwings on Thursday. The Flying Dutchmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by nine runs or more this season.

Ellodie Mills was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Mills was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Briley Behm was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Samantha Navis was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Oostburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Oostburg back to even at 8-8. As for Sheboygan South, their defeat was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-22.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oostburg will welcome Winnebago Lutheran Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sheboygan South, they will host Green Bay Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
