Baseball Recap: Northwest's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Northwest made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. Joseph's - Plaucheville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles an 11-0 shutout on Saturday. The Raiders were shut out 19-0 the last time they took on the Eagles, so the Raiders were just returning the favor.

Northwest let Brayden Batiste and Ethan Jenkins run wild. Batiste scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3, while Jenkins scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Jenkins has become a key player for Northwest: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-23 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Berard, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Northwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Northwest's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-24. As for St. Joseph's - Plaucheville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
