Baseball Game Preview: Indian Rocks Christian Eagles vs. Anclote Sharks

The Indian Rocks Christian Eagles will square off against the Anclote Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anclote took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Indian Rocks Christian, who comes in off a win.

Indian Rocks Christian will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate on Monday. Indian Rocks Christian was the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate. Considering the Eagles have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Indian Rocks Christian got a massive performance out of Hunter Maddox, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Maddox a new career-high. Noah Mortellite was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Indian Rocks Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Anclote was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Sharks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Anthony Brasby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anclote saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Fanning, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Anclote's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Indian Rocks Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Anclote in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Does Indian Rocks Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Anclote turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
