Baseball Recap: Cienega Drops Season-High Score on Casa Grande

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cienega). Everything went their way against the Casa Grande Cougars on Wednesday as the Cienega Bobcats made off with a 17-6 win. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

JAMES LINZMEYER was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Cienega's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). CARLOS DAVILA also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

LINZMEYER wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cienega kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got Cienega back to even at 5-5. As for Casa Grande, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Cienega will take on Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Casa Grande, they will venture away from home to challenge Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
