Basketball Game Preview: Pitt County P Pacers vs. Christ Covenant Spartans

The Pitt County P Pacers will head out on the road to challenge the Christ Covenant Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pitt County P will be strutting in after a victory while Christ Covenant will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Pitt County P turned things around against Coastal Brigade on Tuesday. They came out on top against Coastal Brigade by a score of 46-39.

Pitt County P found their leader in sophomore Landon Pike, who went 6 of 9 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was JT Smethrs, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Christ Covenant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity Christian.

Pitt County P will need focus on slowing down Tyler Roberson, one of several Christ Covenant players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 for 15 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Roberson has posted since back in November of 2024. Noah Stein was another key player, putting up 18 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Christ Covenant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Pitt County P's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Christ Covenant, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Pitt County P couldn't quite finish off Christ Covenant when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 49-47. Can Pitt County P avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
