Softball Game Preview: Riverside Generals vs. Westside Wolverines

The Riverside Generals will challenge the Westside Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Riverside lost 14-1 to Stanton on Monday.

Riverside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was M Talton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Westside's offense. They came up short against Raines on Monday, falling 19-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since February 27, 2020, but that streak is no more.

Westside's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Westside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. It's a different story for Westside, though, as they've only averaged .353. Will they be able to contain Riverside's hitters?

Riverside got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 against Westside by a conclusive 27-7 score. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
