Softball Recap: Plymouth Whitemarsh Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

Plymouth Whitemarsh came out on top against Wissahickon on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run third inning. The Colonials put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Colonials, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Plymouth Whitemarsh got a massive performance out of Emily Dobrowolski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave Dobrowolski a new career-high. Kalina Childers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Plymouth Whitemarsh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wissahickon only posted an OBP of .222.

Plymouth Whitemarsh is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Wissahickon, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Colonials 3.8, the Hatters 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Wissahickon is set to square off against their familiar foe Abington at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
