Baseball Recap: Rio Americano Takes a Loss

Rio Americano has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.58 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell 11-6 to the Bella Vista Broncos. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Broncos when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Derek Gale made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Braden Leu also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Rio Americano's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bella Vista, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

While Rio Americano had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
