Basketball Recap: Eustis Skates Past Citrus with Ease

Eustis won the last time they faced Citrus and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers blew past the Hurricanes, posting an 80-25 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Eustis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyren Felix-Rodriguez, who went 5-for-6 en route to 10 points and seven steals. Felix-Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Sutton, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 13 points and six boards.

Eustis pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Citrus, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eustis will venture away from home to challenge Mount Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Citrus, they will head out to square off against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
