Carrollton is 0-9 against Lafayette County since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Carrollton Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lafayette County Huskers at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Carrollton has struggled recently with 11 defeats in a row, while Lafayette County will arrive with eight straight wins.
Carrollton fell victim to Holden's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 40-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Lafayette County humbled Lexington with a 58-6 victory. The result was nothing new for Lafayette County, who have now won seven contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Carrollton's defeat was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.5 points per game. As for Lafayette County, their win on Thursday bumped their record up to 8-0.
Carrollton took a serious blow against Lafayette County in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 79-12. Can Carrollton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
