Football Recap: Broughton Piles Up the Points Against Green Level + How To Watch

Broughton was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Green Level on Thursday. The Capitals claimed a resounding 43-14 win over the Gators. With the Capitals ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Xavier Howard had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 115 yards and two scores on only nine carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and one touchdown. Barack Okeyo was another key player, rushing for 69 yards and one TD on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Broughton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Level only rushed for 116 rushing yards.

Broughton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rives Smith.

Green Level's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Sadler, who rushed for 60 yards and one score on only six carries.

The victory got Broughton back to even at 1-1. As for Green Level, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broughton will venture away from home to take on Sanderson at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Green Level, they will head out to challenge Enloe at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
