Softball Recap: Biloxi Indians vs. Harrison Central Red Rebels

Biloxi lost against Harrison Central back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians came up short against the Red Rebels, falling 8-2.

Kylie Mckay was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Kya Gammons was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits.

Mckay wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Erin Hill, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Nia Shannon was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Biloxi's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Harrison Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biloxi will head out to face off against Picayune at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Harrison Central, they will venture away from home to take on Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
