Basketball Recap: Pinson Valley Comes Up Short

Pinson Valley has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gainesville Red Elephants. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since January 23rd.

Pinson Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Gainesville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinson Valley and Fort Payne will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinson Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Fort Payne likes a good challenge. Gainesville will take on Sandy Creek in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy Creek will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Gainesville surely won't give up without a fight.
