Baseball Game Preview: Jellico Blue Devils vs. Campbell County Cougars

The Jellico Blue Devils will square off against the Campbell County Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jellico will be strutting in after a win while Campbell County will be coming in after a defeat.

Jellico is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 19-14 victory over Lynn Camp on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Baird, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Jellico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Campbell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 14-2 to Karns.

Campbell County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Rice, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Jellico's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for Campbell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Jellico might still be hurting after the 24-3 loss they got from Campbell County in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
