While Pecos's victory against Clayton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Yellowjackets 3-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Pecos was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-107), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 18-25, 17-15.

Pecos' win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Clayton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pecos is set to square off against their familiar foe Santa Rosa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clayton will face off against rival Tucumcari at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
