Basketball Recap: Cypress Bay Skates Past Taravella with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cypress Bay had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-7 victory over the Taravella Trojans. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 26 points or more this season.

Cypress Bay found their leader in sophomore Ellie McKinney, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points along with seven boards and seven steals. With that strong performance, McKinney is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Agam Gago was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten steals.

Cypress Bay was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cypress Bay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Taravella, their loss dropped their record down to 8-9.

Cypress Bay has already played their next contest (against Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Taravella does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
