Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for Viewpoint

Viewpoint proved they can win big last Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Duarte Falcons 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since May 11, 2024.

Not much got past Emjay Peck, who gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Duarte off the board. Peck has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gwyneth Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Viewpoint's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Duarte, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Viewpoint will venture away from home to square off against Taft at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Viewpoint is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Duarte, they are taking a road trip to face off against University Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
