Volleyball Recap: Park Hill South Comes Up Short

Park Hill South lost against Belton back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Park Hill South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-8, 25-15, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Park Hill South saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Devree Coughlin had 17 assists and four digs. Coughlin has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Park Hill South's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Belton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Park Hill South will take on Kearney at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belton, they will challenge Ruskin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
