Basketball Recap: Tooele Skates Past Ben Lomond with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tooele). They claimed a resounding 65-16 win over the Ben Lomond Scots. Given the Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Scots are ranked 86th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedy Searle was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 18 on her way to 23 points and eight rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Gustin, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Tooele pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Ben Lomond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Tooele didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-46 loss against Mountain View on the 11th. As for Ben Lomond, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rockwell at 5:15 p.m.
