Volleyball Recap: West Lincoln Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

With a playoff win on the line, West Lincoln rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.

West Lincoln had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.

Kaylee Ward was nothing short of spectacular: she had 26 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Hayden Long, who had 11 digs and one assist.

West Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Piedmont Community Charter, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.

West Lincoln has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Draughn on the 21st. Piedmont Community Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
