Oxford suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Oxford Wolverines vs. Torrington Raiders

The Oxford Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 95-55 defeat at the hands of Torrington. Oxford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-21.

Torrington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Fenn, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Fenn scored 15 or more points. Logan Tucciarone was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Oxford dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Torrington, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Oxford on the road again on Tuesday and play against Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in Wilby's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Torrington, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Waterbury Career Academy at 7:00 p.m.
