Basketball Recap: Jamison Menadue's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Golden City over Walnut Grove

Golden City was the 51-47 winner over Walnut Grove when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden City Eagles received a blow on Monday as they fell 67-50 to the Walnut Grove Tigers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Golden City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamison Menadue, who posted 12 points and three steals. Menadue is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Spencer Parrill, who scored 14 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Golden City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Golden City's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Walnut Grove, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

As of now, neither Golden City nor Walnut Grove have any future games scheduled.
