Softball Recap: Pinckney Takes a Loss

Pinckney fell victim to Monroe and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Trojans. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pinckney got a good showing from Jade Chelenyak, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Chelenyak has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pinckney saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natally Pease, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Pinckney dropped their record down to 21-13-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Monroe, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Coming up, Pinckney will host Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monroe, they will take on Ida at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluestreaks have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
