Basketball Recap: Mustang Gets the Win

Mustang's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They managed a 51-45 win over the Jenks Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Broncos also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Mustang picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Jenks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mustang will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southmoore at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. Southmoore knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Mustang likes a good challenge. Jenks will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Sapulpa at 8:00 p.m. on January 7th. One thing working in Sapulpa's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
