Preview: Grapevine Mustangs vs. Harker Heights Knights
The Grapevine Mustangs will take on the Harker Heights Knights at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Grapevine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Harker Heights likes a good challenge.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Grapevine ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over Keller Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Randy Garcia and Blue Schaper were among the main playmakers for Grapevine as the former scored 18 points and the latter scored 16 points. Dalton Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, Harker Heights earned a 50-41 win over Round Rock on Tuesday.
The losses dropped Grapevine to 4-5 and Keller Central to 1-4.
Grapevine came up short against Harker Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 52-43. Can Grapevine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
