Football Recap: Mallard Creek Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mallard Creek fell victim to Independence and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Patriots, falling 35-0. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Mavericks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Sam Cheeseboro threw for 53 yards while completing 85.7% of his passes. Khalil Price was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Joshua Person rushed for 45 yards.

Independence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jared Street Jr led the charge by rushing for 138 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. Those 138 rushing yards gave Street Jr a new career-high. Jayden Jones helped out on the ground, rushing for 180 yards and a rushing touchdown.
