Softball Preview: Caston Comets vs. Logansport Berries
Caston has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Logansport Berries at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Caston stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Eastern 12-2.
Addison Zimpleman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Zimpleman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Caston got a massive performance out of Kylee Logan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isabel Scales, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, a triple, and a run.
Meanwhile, Logansport entered their tilt with Kokomo with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildkats 8-7.
Kellyn Cripe was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrienne Scott, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a double.
