Preview: Pottsville Crimson Tide vs. Williamsport Millionaires
Pottsville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Williamsport Millionaires at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pottsville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Williamsport likes a good challenge.
Pottsville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Lehighton on Monday as Pottsville made off with a 68-47 win.
Pottsville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Letrel Montone out in front who scored 15 points. Christian Alvarez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Williamsport, who are still winless after their fourth game. They fell to Hollidaysburg 57-51. While losing is never fun, Williamsport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Hollidaysburg is ranked 212th).
Pottsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Williamsport, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Pottsville took a serious blow against Williamsport in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 65-24. Can Pottsville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
