Soccer Game Preview: Lamar vs. Westside

The Lamar Texans will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Westside Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lamar comes in on three and Westside on four.

Lamar's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past North Crowley 4-0. The result was nothing new for the Texans, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Westside's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They won by a goal and slipped past Varsity Opponent 3-2. That's two games straight that Wolves have won by just one goal.

Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six matches. As for Westside, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Lamar skirted past Westside 1-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Lamar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
