Football Recap: Newark Catholic Comes Up Short

Newark Catholic fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Northridge on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 29-28 to the Vikings. The Green Wave were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Northridge was led to victory by Jayce Golden and Brayden Bingham. Golden rushed for 181 yards and three scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, while Bingham rushed for 138 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing touchdowns Golden has posted since back in September of 2024.

Newark Catholic is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Northridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
