Softball Recap: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Enloe Eagles
Millbrook extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 10-7. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Enloe Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Tuesday.
Millbrook saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Kaplan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Enloe, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since February 25th.
On Enloe's side, Avery Modlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Enloe let Jaycey Morrrison and Emily Peters run wild. Morrrison went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Peters went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Morrrison has posted since back in March. Jane Kiec also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Millbrook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-6 loss against Wakefield on the 21st. As for Enloe, they have also already played their next game, an 8-1 defeat against Corinth Holders on the 21st.
