Baseball Recap: Wayland Comes Up Short

Wayland suffered their closest defeat since April 28th on Monday. They fell just short of the West Catholic Falcons by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on Monday.

Wayland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for West Catholic, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

While Wayland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
