Baseball Game Preview: Southside Sharks vs. New Iberia Yellowjackets

The Southside Sharks will take on the New Iberia Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southside lost 9-2 to Sam Houston on Tuesday. The Sharks have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for New Iberia's offense. They came up short against Barbe on Tuesday, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for New Iberia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season.

Southside came out on top in a nail-biter against New Iberia when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Southside repeat their success, or does New Iberia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
