Basketball Recap: Patrick County Takes a Loss

Patrick County lost against Glenvar back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patrick County Cougars came up short against the Glenvar Highlanders, falling 76-51. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 100th).

Patrick County's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Glenvar, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

While Patrick County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
