Baseball Recap: Amelia Academy Comes Up Short

Amelia Academy was the 4-3 winner over Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Knights by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday.

Jacob Creswell put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Carson Roberts made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Amir Hall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Amelia Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Coming up, Amelia Academy will challenge Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, they will head out to challenge Fuqua at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
