Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Knights vs. Columbus Sharks

Kennedy hasn't had much luck against Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kennedy Knights will host the Columbus Sharks at 4:30 p.m.

Kennedy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 69 points last Thursday, they were much more limited against Marshall Academy on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 62-22 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Panthers are ranked 135th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbus). They were the clear victor by a 71-48 margin over Roosevelt Educational on Tuesday. The Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Columbus, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Kennedy came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbus when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 38-35. Will Kennedy repeat their success, or does Columbus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
