Grant strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Newaygo Lions. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 6-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Addison Herrmann made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Herrmann was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Nikki Saxton and Alexa Obenauf did most of the damage at the plate: Saxton went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Obenauf went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Saxton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Gragg, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Grant's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.3 runs this season. As for Newaygo, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Grant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair will be back at it again later today.
