Basketball Recap: Mount Pleasant Extends Winning Streak to Two

Mount Pleasant posted their closest win since December 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They never let the Newark Yellowjackets onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The two-point effort marked the Green Knights' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win made it two in a row for Mount Pleasant and bumps their season record up to 6-13. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-11 Newark and 8-10 MOT Charter. As for Newark, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Mount Pleasant will head out to take on William Penn at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-3 defeat against MOT Charter on the 14th.
