 Mt. Vernon waltzed into their matchup  on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They had just enough and edged the Wooster Generals out  4-3. That's more bragging rights for Mt. Vernon, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Kayden Packard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
 On the hitting side, Mt. Vernon's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Jonny Askew, who  went 1-for-3 with a  triple and a  run.
 Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Wooster,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will take on Springfield at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Mt. Vernon will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak  alive. Wooster will take on Marlington at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
