Softball Recap: Canon-Mcmillan Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Canon-McMillan hadn't done well against North Allegheny recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Big Macs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Big Macs: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 7-3 defeat.

Not much got past Brooke Bumer, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep North Allegheny off the board. Bumer has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Canon-McMillan let Skylah Steban and Aurora Shirdon run wild. Steban went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Shirdon got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Steban has posted since back in March.

Canon-McMillan's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for North Allegheny, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Canon-McMillan has already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Mt. Lebanon on the 17th. As for North Allegheny, they will host Pine-Richland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
