Basketball Recap: Shoshone Comes Up Short

Shoshone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-34 loss at the hands of the Hagerman Pirates. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-28 back in December of 2024.

Ky Kendall was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 34 points and ten steals for Hagerman. Kendall's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Wyatt Mavencamp was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Shoshone's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hagerman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shoshone will face off against Sun Valley Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shoshone is facing Sun Valley Community at the right time seeing as Sun Valley Community is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hagerman, they will square off against Raft River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hagerman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
