Soccer Game Preview: Auburn vs. Tahoma

The Auburn Trojans will square off against the Tahoma Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Auburn came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-1 to Auburn Mountainview.

Meanwhile, Tahoma put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Kentridge a 1-0 shutout. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Kentridge are ranked 50th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tahoma pushed their record up to 14-0-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those eight matches. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-2.
