Football Recap: Mechanicsville Takes a Loss

Mechanicsville easily dispatched Henrico last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Mustangs fell just short of the King William Cavaliers by a score of 24-21 on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

K'Sean Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for King William, rushing for 106 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Hill a new career-high in passing yards (49). Xavier Shelton helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Mechanicsville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for King William, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mechanicsville will take on Atlee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for King William, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Colonial Heights at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
