Soccer Game Preview: Union Mine vs. Bradshaw Christian

The Union Mine Diamondbacks will head out to challenge the Bradshaw Christian The Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bradshaw Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Union Mine, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Union Mine turned things around against Argonaut on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mustangs 2-1. Even though the Diamondbacks got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Evan Fees was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Salvador Rios Medina and Fees scored both of Union Mine's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian came up short against Galt on Friday, falling 6-3. While losing is never fun, the The Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the Warriors are ranked 223rd).

Union Mine's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-10-1. As for Bradshaw Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-1.

Union Mine suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Bradshaw Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Union Mine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
