The Wickliffe Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Geneva Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Geneva took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wickliffe, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Wickliffe turned things around against Madison on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Blue Streaks.

Leigha Blazetic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Amanda Peklay and Audrey Musgrave did most of the damage at the plate: Peklay went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Musgrave went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits Musgrave has posted since back in March of 2025. Abby Sulyok also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wickliffe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Berkshire hit Geneva with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell 5-0 to the Badgers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Geneva saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailyn Cerjan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Geneva now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Wickliffe, their record now sits at 5-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wickliffe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Geneva struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wickliffe couldn't quite get it done against Geneva when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 7-4. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
