Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Flat Rock back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bears lost 23-6 to the Rams.

Brooke Payment made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Gennoe, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Flat Rock, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will venture away from home to face off against Grosse Ile at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Flat Rock, they will head out on the road to take on Huron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
