Volleyball Recap: Champlin Park Takes a Loss

Champlin Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Anoka Tornadoes. While the Rebels didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tornadoes 25-21 in the first set.

Champlin Park wouldn't go down easily and took Anoka into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking ten-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-13, 22-25, 15-5.

Champlin Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Anoka, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Champlin Park will square off against rival Spring Lake Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Anoka is set to take on their familiar foe Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
