Lakeland has no trouble against Timberlake

Recap: Lakeland Hawks vs. Timberlake Tigers

Even though the Timberlake Tigers scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, the Lakeland Hawks still came out on top. Lakeland strolled past Timberlake with points to spare, taking the game 72-56. For Lakeland, this counts as revenge for the 67-61 loss Timberlake walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Engelson, who scored 28 points. Engelson scored a full 50% of Timberlake's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Yetter, who scored 12 points.

Lakeland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Timberlake, they bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lakeland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Skyline is ranked 51st, while Lakeland is ranked 42nd). As for Timberlake, they will head out on the road to face off against Genesis Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
