Anderson C suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Anderson C Cavaliers vs. New Hope Leadership Academy Gladiators

The Anderson C Cavaliers lost a heartbreaker to the New Hope Leadership Academy Gladiators when they met back in December of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. Anderson C took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Hope Leadership Academy. While losing is never fun, Anderson C can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 578th, while New Hope Leadership Academy is ranked 223rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Hope Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sugar Eaton, who scored 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Eaton has scored at least a third of New Hope Leadership Academy's points. Trey Hampton was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.

Anderson C bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for New Hope Leadership Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson C will take on New Hope Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Hope Leadership Academy, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
