After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hauser, Columbus Christian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Cannelton Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since September 13, 2024.

Columbus Christian wouldn't go down easily and took Cannelton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-12, 22-25, 17-15.

Bella Fredericksen paced Columbus Christian's offense, picking up 12 kills. Fredericksen got some help from Abby Dora and her eight assists. Dora was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Columbus Christian's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Cannelton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus Christian will square off against Christian Academy of Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cannelton, they will face off against South Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
